Movement and Exercise
Exercise, movement and rehabilitation are the four pillars of Physiotherapy and an important part of treatment.
The body adapts quickly to accommodate injury, habitual posture and movements. Inefficient or dysfunctional movement patterns can then dominate leading to stiff, weak, short muscles, poor loading through joints and ultimately pain and discomfort.
Task and movement analysis will help to identify these patterns, from which a progressive exercise plan will be designed for you.
The goal is to follow this plan at home, to retrain more efficient pain free movement.
I have trained in Pilates through the APPI health group, and movement analysis and rehabilitation through JEMS Joanne Elphinston movement systems.
