My Philosophy
From having learnt about the body in a very prescriptive, mechanistic way through my physiotherapy training, I soon realised that viewing the body as individual parts - eg a sore knee or painful back - is not effective in getting people better. The body is not simply a collection of parts but an interconnected, changing, adapting, whole; and it cannot be separated from the life experiences, emotions, thoughts and beliefs of the person. This awareness of the mind/ body connection is central to how I treat all clients who come to my clinic.
I have a love of learning and constantly seek more knowledge about what ails us and how best to help my clients. I approach the treatment of everyone from a holistic body-tissue, movement and psychosocial perspective. The emphasis will be different for each client but every condition will have these 3 elements intertwined in treatment.
